Swans art print
PLEASE NOTE: For the moment it is only possible to pay with PayPal.
Back by popular demand, and with kind permission by Michael Gira, this is the second and final reprint of my poster originally created for Swans' concert in Leipzig, October 2014. Art edition, without the venue and date info.
2 color red to black gradient, silkscreened by Barcelona's Serigrafia Monostereo.
50 by 70 cm (20 by 27 inches), on heavy (270 gram) French Rives Sensation Tactile Gloss paper, 100% recycled, extra white. Numbered edition of 111.
This time the image area is bigger; 1 cm wider on each side, allowing for more detail to pass through the silkscreen mesh.
In keeping with Swans' use of sound as means of achieving transcendence, the figure of Michael Gira strums the guitar chord which releases fiery tidal waves of sound (6 rows of waves/guitar strings), the volume of which obliterates the musician/listener, the mind dissolving into a cosmic consciousness. It was also inspired by the architecture of the Schauspiel theater where the original concert took place, the waves being also the rows of red seats, the galaxy spiral mirroring the shape of the vast spiral chandelier.
Shipped in a sturdy cardboard tube, wrapped in kraft paper, with a tracking number. Each order comes with a sticker of the image as well (size 10.5 x 7.5 cm).
